A rare naked nail (no polish) pic, but totally black and white because all the dark polishes I wear stain my nails (even with an awesome base coat it's unavoidable).

Not sure how I feel

February 18, 2014

Not sure how I feel about this pale blue color from Essie. It’s certainly beautiful, but on my super pale hands, it looks rather ghostly. I don’t tend to enjoy extremely light colors, but thought I’d give this one a try. What do you guys think?

Sheer Plaid Nails

February 15, 2014

I saw a manicure on Pinterest the other day and wanted to try it out, but with different colors. The colors I picked were a bit sheer, and it ended up creating a sort of plaid look. Super cool!

Polishes Used:
Essie Chinchilly
Essie Watermelon
Essie Resort Fling
Seche Vite Top Coat

I created this manicure by first painting my nails with the gray color (Chinchilly), appying a top coat, and letting it dry completely. Then I used scotch tape and masked off a portion of the nail so that I could paint the lighter coral color (Resort Fling). I made sure to do one nail at a time and remove the tape immediately after painting the coral color. Then I applied a thin top coat and let it dry. Finally, I taped off the other side of the nail, painted the magenta color (Watermelon), and peeled off the tape immediately. Then I finished the nail art design with a clear top coat. :)

Inspired by a find on

February 14, 2014

Inspired by a find on Pinterest, but I changed up the colors. Messy first attempt. Want to try this one again but instead use tape to mask off the different colors. Much cleaner that way. Too impatient this time around to wait for each coat to dry. :)

Painted my nails Monday morning

February 7, 2014

Painted my nails Monday morning and it's lasted this long. Lots of tipwear but minimal chipping. That's Seche Vite topcoat for ya--super strong and shiny, even after 5 days. :) (P.S. The polish color is Nicole by OPI Spring Break).
