Navy Sparkles!

Like most nail fanatics who were too late on the scene to grab the elusive Essie Starry Starry Night, I’m always on the lookout for similar looks. There’s just something about dark blue with sparkles. Mine doesn’t look like Starry Starry Night, but it gets the job done and steers me away from Evil-bay where SSN goes for upward of $300. Ouch. :)

Base Color: Zoya Ibiza (see it on it’s own HERE)
Glitter: Northern Lights (silver)

Rescue Beauty IKB: 2012 & pink stamping

I’ve been on a White Collar watching spree on Netflix. Anyone else watch that show? So addicting! While watching this afternoon, I decided to do a bit of nail stamping. I haven’t been in the mood for it lately (I got through phases), but I absolutely love this combination! :)

Base Color: Rescue Beauty Lounge IKB: 2012 (limited edition)
Stamping Color: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Presto Pink 210
Stamping Plate: Bundle Monster BM-310 (both designs are on one plate)
Top Coat: Seche Vite

Oldie but goodie – Essie Wicked

Years and years ago when my nail polish obsession was just in its infancy, I bought Essie Wicked. I adored Essie Wicked. I think it was my exclusive polish for two or three months. Just couldn’t get enough of it. It wears well and seems to match everything.

It’s a dark vampy burgundy, slightly gel-ish, black indoors and rich red out in the sun. It’s just an awesome color.

So when I go through a nail polish funk (i.e. when I don’t feel like doing super fun nail art or stamping), sometimes I go back to Wicked. It just makes me happy. :)

P.S. This photo below makes it look really purple, but it’s really a color shifter! Depending on the lighting, Wicked can go more red, more brown, more black. It’s an awesome color.

Essie Bikini So Teeny With Dots + Pedicure nightmare

Wearing some dots today. :) The dots are from a Cheeky plate and were sort of hard to stamp. It was strange. I was trying to be super careful but you can see that some of the dots are warped. I think I need to practice a bit more with this one. :)

Anyhow, here are some dots!

Pedicure Nightmare

In other news, I had an awful pedicure over the weekend. The technician cut my toes multiple times! I’ve always heard that you should never trim your cuticles, but just push them back. I generally don’t have much dead cuticle to work with anyway, so I’ve never had to warn anyone to NOT trim my cuticles. Anyway, before I knew it the tech was going to town on my toes and making me bleed! Nip! Nip! Nip! I could feel her cutting my skin!

I should have spoken up sooner. Learn from me, people! SPEAK UP AND TELL THEM THEY ARE HURTING YOU! She was going so fast, I just assumed it would be over quickly. Three days later and I still can’t wear socks or closed toe shoes because they rub against my healing WOUNDS. :(

Dude. Never again. I’ll just do my own dang pedicure, thanks.

Randomness

Currently rocking A-England Avalon. Can’t get enough of that color. So pretty!

I’ve been super busy, as you can tell by the lack of posts here. :) I did have a failed attempt at a water marbling manicure, though. After a few fingers I gave up. It was much MUCH too messy (even with tape around my cuticles). Maybe one of these days I’ll try it again?

In the meantime, I’ve been loving things I see online…

Over at YouTube, MissJenFABULOUS shared this awesome braided manicure… (you can also see it at her blog HERE)…

And I’m in love with this manicure by Pshiiit. I have Essie Mint Candy Apple so I’m sorely tempted to recreate the look myself. :)

What are you admiring online recently?

Three-Color Nail Stamping Manicure

Having fun with more nail stamping. :) This time I tried stamping with three colors all at once…

Stamping Colors: Konad Special Polish Yellow, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Mint Sprint & Brisk Blue
Stamping Plate: Cheeky CH6
Top Coat: Seche Vite

Oops! You can see some stray Mannie fur in these photos. I suppose I should have waited until after taking pictures to scratch his ears. ;)

White with Black Lines Stamped Manicure

Happy Sunday, all!

I have a simple yet striking manicure for you today. When I first saw the BM-319 plate in the new 2012 Bundle Monster pack, I really wanted to try this design using black and white. I think it’s just so modern looking. :)

Anyhow, enjoy! I also filmed the manicure as well. :)
