Making your manicure last longer

September 7, 2014

Making your manicure last longer -- Recently was reminded by various sources online that one of the best ways to extend a manicure is to reapply a top coat each day. Not only does it make the polish last longer, but it adds extra strength (and I can use all the help I can get to prevent nails breaking). This manicure is two days old, including putting it through it's paces by prepping for a birthday party at my house (setting up tables and chairs and lots of dish washing). Just applied a new coat of HK Girl top coat and it looks like I just painted my nails. :) Polish is Zoya Margo. #zoya #dark #red #starofmaynails

Formula X Nightingale

November 21, 2013

For more of my thoughts on Formula X polishes, please see this post.

This manicure was done using Orly Bonder base coat, and Seche Vite top coat. There was no polish shrinkage with the Seche Vite, so I would assume Formula X polishes play well with Seche Vite.

(Sorry for the super exposed photos. This color is particularly dark, so the pictures had to be bright to show the purple-ness).

Julep Nic

November 14, 2013

Julep Nic is a color I received at the same time as Brielle in my most recent Julep Maven box. It’s a very dark vampy crimson. Pretty much so dark it’s black. The only time I notice the red is in strong light. Application wasn’t too bad–about as difficult as any super dark color would be. I applied three coats to achieve complete opaqueness.
